When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Gums that are sore and bleed may be a sign of periodontal disease. Over 80% of adults in the US have some form of periodontal disease. I can''''t tell you not to be afraid of the dentist, but there are various ways to clean teeth so that it is a painless as possible for you. I do accept BCBS Dental Blue. If you would like to call 617-868-4046 and speak with Scott, he would be happy to answer your questions and make you a convenient appointment so we can do an exam and create a treatment plan for you so that we can get you back to optimal dental health. Good luck and I hope to see you soon! Tim Deahl

Hi,

I am a dentist in Malden (a few blocks from the orange line, Malden Center station). I recommend that you see a dentist for only x-rays and an exam first. That will give you an opportunity to get used to the office and the dentist without the anxiety of impending treatment.

If you have periodontal disease, the treatment is not usually very uncomfortable. When you are uncomfortable, there is always local anesthetic like Novacaine. There are medications that a dentist may prescribe. I would be very happy to be that dentist. I am a BC/BS provider.

My web site is www.themaldendentist.com.

Be well,

David Leader, DMD
