Case Description
I wondered if anyone had recommendations for Prosthodontists in the SE CT or RI area? I have found info here on some excellent Prosthodontists in MA but as I know I will be needing many appointments to complete the work needed I was hoping that maybe the dentists on here might be able to recommend someone in my geographical area (I'm happy to travel 50+ miles for the right dental office).

I fell earlier this year and knocked out #7 and will need implant and crown for this tooth.

Teeth #8, 9, 10 are heavily filled from childhood and also now have horizontal fractures caused when I fell so will also need crowns. #9 & 10 may need root canals too.

I have a flipper for the missing #7 and I really want to move on with getting this work done but I am very nervous about finding the right dentist. My general dentist is lovely but I am not in love with the crowns he did for me on some back teeth (partial metal and have black line and gum darkening). I have been for consultations with two Cosmetic Dentists but did not feel 100% confident in either. This led me to research more and I can see that a Prosthodontists is who I should have been looking for.

I have been very unhappy with my smile all my life and have always wanted to improve it but fear has held me back, now I have lost #7 I really can't put this off any longer. I am not fearful of the procedures but just nervous about finding the right dentist for the work. If anyone has any recommendations I would be very grateful.

Thank you :)

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.
