Case Description
I had bad dental experience 20 years ago and my all of front teeth become crown teeth. Root canal was done 10 years ago and porceline crown is not natural look compare to surrounding teeth, and some black line starts show. I like to update my smile so badley but should I change crown teeth if the one I have now is fine? Is any bad effect to redo crown teeth for cosmetic purpose? Is there any chance I may loose remain of teeth? What is the cost of one crown? I just can not smile these days with this situation....

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
  • Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
  • Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description, special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
  • Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
  • Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors. Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Hi. It sounds like the crowns are old and that you are showing the metal edges of the crown at the gumline. I would need to take a look at your teeth. But I can tell you that dental porcelains and ceramics have improved greatly over the years and we now can offer you crowns that look as natural as your own teeth. I think that you would be very pleased with the result! Please call my office and schedule a consultation visit with me. I would be happy to discuss your case in detail with you at that time. We want you to smile again!

Hello,

You would have to come in for a consultation so we can take a look at your existing work and let you know the best treatment for you. If you have had any x-rays taken in the past couple of years then these would be a great help. You can call our office anytime and make an appointment. Thank you for your email.

Dear Patient,

Current technologies allow us to fabricate all-ceramic-crowns with superior cosmetic outcome. All ceramic crowns should blend in naturaly with your remaining teeth with no dark edges at the gum level -which is very common with older porcelain fused to metal crowns-. Replacing existing crowns should have no negative effect on the remaining teeth that support the crowns when done carefuly by an experienced Prosthodontist/Restorative Dentist. Cost varies based on the type of crown that will be placed.

A consultation and recent x-rays would be needed to provide you with more detailed treatment plan and cost estimate.

Have a good weekend.
