Case Description
Hi, I had GUM evaluation from a doctor. He said that I have to have soft tissue graft treatment for tooth #19. One way that he recommended is to use tissue from cell bank rather than take it from my tissue on top of the mouth. My question is that if tissue from the bank is used, is it going to have the same recovery time/outcome from the treatment as to use my own tissue in the mouth ?
Is there any side-effect from this treatment? Also, what's average estimated cost for this treatment?
if possible, I want to find a good periodontist in boston area for the treatment. Please advise.!! Thanks

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Hi. We have a fantastic periodontist at our practice. She does beautiful graft surgery. Please visit our web site learn more about her and call our office if you wish to schedule an appointment.FYI....she does not use tissue from a cell bank, but rather uses the patient''''''''s own tissue. She takes a very small piece of tissue from the roof of the mouth, near one of the back molars. To make things more comfortable afterwards in that area, she makes a plastic stent (like a retainer) to cover the roof of the mouth for about a week. The graft site is also covered with a special peridontal packing which helps it to heal and makes it more comfortable afterwards. Some periodontists feel that there is too much shrinkage of tissue that comes from the cell banks. It''''''''s really a matter of personal preference though. Our periodontist would be happy to see you.
