Case Description
I had my two front teeth bonded to close the gap between them. I was not told anything except "it's glue they put between your teeth" They sat me down and proceeded to bond the surfaces of both teeth even though my two front teeth were flawless. I thought they only put bonding between the spaces. I didn't like the result because my two front teeth looked way thicker than the rest. I asked to have it removed and they said that it was not reversible. This really pissed me off and I was angry because had I known all the details I would have declined. I took matters into my own hands and removed the bonding myself using a very fine paper nail file. It worked, i got all the bonding off, however now I'm stuck with a bunch of scratches on my two front teeth. They are not deep, you can hardly feel them, but now my teeth look terrible. What can be done about this?

When selecting a new doctor, consider the following:
Quality of Explanations: Compare dentist replies. Give preference to well-reasoned, detail-oriented, transparent explanations.
Experience & Qualifications: If a dentist has a practice listing, check their practice description,
special training, typical office procedures and before & after case photographs.
Other Patients' Freedback: If a dentist has reviews, read other patients' reviews. The more
reviews they have, the more likely it is that other patients' feeback is accurate.
Treatment Costs: Dental procedure costs vary from practice to practice and depend on a variety of factors.
Because quality of patient care and treatment results vary from practice to practice most dentists will not "price-match" treatment fees of others.

Hi,Bonding is a very common procedure to close small spaces between teeth. The other options are orthodontic treatment and porcelain veneers. It is not recommended that you remove the bonding yourself but since you have already done so, i feel you see a dentist or a specialist to make sure that the two teeth are not damaged. It will be hard for any practitioner to comment on what can be done unless and until they fully examine your teeth in a clinical setting and know exactly what is going on. I hope my comments were helpful.Feel free to e-mail if you have any further questions/concerns.

I am not exactly sure why I am replying since what you have done is terrifying to me. As a top expert in cosmetic dentistry the thought of the damage you might have done to your two front teeth is a little unusual. It may be possible USING ONLY PROFESSIONAL DENTAL INSTRUMENTS BY A TRAINED EXPERT to repair the damage you have done. I would be happy to consider evaluating you in my office. Well done bonding can be almost indistinguishable from your natural teeth. Poorly done bonding, by someone without a lot of cosmetic experience, can often look as you described. We also do porcelain veneers for a more natural and long lasting solution to spaces, but that involves some drilling of your teeth. Run from anyone who offers you Lumineers, as they are only additions to your teeth and must make them fatter than they are. We are Invisalign certified as well, which may be the best solution for you, depending on the size and configuration of your space. Moving your natural teeth to close the space may be simple. Please call me next week. Good luck.
